Strategic Buyer

Job Summary:

As a Strategic Purchaser, you will be responsible for the procurement of chemicals and other critical goods and services. You will act as the point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and will play a key role in optimising supplier relationships, contracts and commercial terms.

You will contribute to procurement policy and translate market developments into concrete actions and an optimal balance between quality, cost and supply reliability. In doing so, you will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D and other disciplines.

Position in the Organization:

The SHE Engineer reports to the Head of Supply Chain. You will be part of a team of four colleagues.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Independently sourcing raw materials, chemicals and related services
• Selecting and developing (international) suppliers
• Actively managing supplier relationships and ensuring performance
• Negotiating prices, delivery terms and contracts
• Identifying market developments and managing price, availability and supply risks
• Liaising with internal stakeholders and advising on procurement issues
• Contributing to cost optimisation, security of supply and the professionalisation of the procurement process and policy

Job Success Requirements:

• Higher vocational education (HBO) level or above, preferably in Chemistry, Supply Chain or Procurement
• Preferably NEVI 1-2 qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience in a strategic procurement role, preferably within the chemical industry
• Strong negotiation skills and a commercial mindset
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (including Incoterms, REACH, customs)
• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system and skilled in analysing data and improving processes
• A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• Analytical, results-oriented and a strong communicator.

• Salary in accordance with the KLK Kolb Specialties B.V. collective labour agreement: €3,800 to €5,000 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications
• 25 days’ annual leave per year on a full-time basis
• 11.5 ATV days
• Holiday pay of 8.33%
• Net travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre up to a maximum of 35 km one way
• A 13th month’s salary
