Power Plant Engineer

Job Summary:

An experienced and skilled Power Plant Engineer to join our team. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining power generation facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Operation & Monitoring
    • Ensure the power plant (boiler, turbine, generator, and BOP) operates safely and efficiently
    • Monitor key parameters: pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, load, etc.
    • Analyze plant performance (heat rate, efficiency, output)
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting
    • Analyze equipment failures (steam turbine, boiler, pumps, condenser, etc.)
    • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans
    • Perform troubleshooting during issues (trip, high vibration, loss of vacuum, etc.)
  • Performance Improvement
    • Analyze performance degradation (e.g., efficiency drop, increased fuel consumption)
    • Provide recommendations for operational optimization
    • Evaluate heat balance and energy losses
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure operations comply with SOP and safety standards
    • Follow environmental regulations (emissions, waste, etc.)
    • Participate in incident/accident investigations
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
    • Record operational logs and significant events
    • Develop SOPs and work instructions
  • Project & Improvement
    • Participate in system upgrades and modification projects
    • Handle commissioning and start-up of new equipment
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors
  • Coordination
    • Coordinate with operation, maintenance, and management teams
    • Provide guidance to operators and technicians
    • Required Skills:
    • Knowledge of systems: boiler, turbine (steam/gas), generator, condenser
    • Instrumentation & control (e.g., DCS, Woodward 505, etc.)
    • Data analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer

Job Success Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in power generation or related field
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Professional certification (e.g. PE) preferred

Additional Notes / Desirable Skills / Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of power generation systems, including steam turbines, gas turbines, and generators.
  • Good in English.
