Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer (E&I) role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and safety of all electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, improvement projects, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting continuous plant operations.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, work order planning, scheduling, system operation, inspection, and continuous improvement, in electrical (MV/LV) and instrumentation (field instrument / PLC / SCADA) systems.
- Support plant reliability improvement activities. Ensure action items are targeting at eliminating root causes in failures by using the effective tools such as FMEA, RCM or RCA.
- Troubleshoot and support PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi) / SCADA (Factorytalk View, Citect) / Robot Palletizer systems, including I/O, panels, and control loops.
- Calibrating and installing field instruments such as sensors, controllers, Radar transmitters, Flowmeter, Pneumatic valves, Solenoid valve, and electrical components.
- Maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems, motor control centers (MCC), and industrial panels. Maintain low and medium voltage (11kV) systems, motors, drives, panels, and conduct wiring checks. Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostic tests, and ensure safety compliance (lock-out/tag-out).
- Monitor and ensure optimal performance of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Ensure all electrical and electronic systems comply with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Design and develop new control systems in line with operational and process requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance and operational activities.
- Available for on-call duty to respond to emergencies and after working hour repairs.
- To perform other related duties assigned or requested by the Management from time to time.
Job Success Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Control, or Mechatronic Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical & instrumentation maintenance (oleochemical / chemical / refinery plant preferred).
- Hands on skill and knowledge in PLC (Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi), field instruments, loop diagram, electrical distribution, motor control and CMMS (SAP).
- Experience using AutoCAD for electrical and instrumentation drawings.
