Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

To plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems within palm oil processing facilities. The Maintenance Engineer ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous production through preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment such as boilers, turbines, conveyors, pumps, and compressors.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment breakdowns, ensuring timely restoration of operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability metrics. Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, spare parts usage, and downtime analysis.
• Coordinate with store and procurement teams to ensure availability of critical spare parts and consumables.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades. Provide technical input for CAPEX projects.
• Work closely with technicians, production staff, and external contractors to ensure smooth execution of maintenance tasks

Job Success Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in palm oil or agro-industrial sectors
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Familiar with troubleshooting and equipment reliability improvement.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, utilities, and process machinery.
• Good understanding of maintenance planning and maintenance scheduling.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
• Willing to be stationed in mill or plantation environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in manufacturing / refinery / oleochemical / palm oil industry is preferred.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Able to work under pressure and support plant operational requirements.
• Good command of English both verbal and written is preferred
