Process Engineer Refinery

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with ammonia chiller compressor systems (ice condensing vacuum system).

Role and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and optimize refinery process operations (degumming, bleaching, deodorization).To perform process trouble shooting and resolve quality problem.
• Operate and troubleshoot ammonia chiller compressor systems for vacuum generation (ice condensing system).
• Ensure stable vacuum performance to support product quality and yield.
• Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, losses, and improvement opportunities
• Lead troubleshooting for issues such as:
  • Vacuum instability
  • Condensation inefficiency
  • Temperature fluctuation
    • Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance of chillers and compressors.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, especially related to ammonia systems.
    • Monitor energy consumption and propose cost-saving initiatives.
    • Support plant start-up, shutdown, and process optimization projects.
    • Prepare technical reports and present findings to management.

Job Success Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering or related field.
• Min 3-5 years working experience in Chemical/Refinery/Oleochemical/Palm Oil Industry.
• Strong experience in:
  • Ammonia chiller compressor systems.
  • Ice condensing vacuum systems.
  • Good understanding of vacuum systems, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Has a good leadership and communication skills to lead a group of team member.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills in refinery plant operations.
• Familiar with PLC/DCS systems is an advantage.
• Able to work under pressure and in a plant environment.
• Good in English

• Ability to motivate operation staff and contractors to meet dateline.
