Electricity is a key element in KLK OLEO’s manufacturing process and contributes significantly to process costs and greenhouse gas emissions. In 2022, the Group decided to invest in a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Palm-Oleo (Klang) Sdn Bhd (POK). The solar PV system produces electricity that is environmentally friendly and sustainable by harnessing the sun’s energy.

A total of 1,576 monocrystalline solar PV modules were installed on available rooftops, including warehouses, loading bays and offices. Through the installation, POK can generate 1 GWh of renewable energy each year, about 5% of its electricity usage.

This system is one of KLK OLEO’s increased efforts to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving Net Zero.
