A Homerun of 500 kilometers at KLK EMMERICH GmbH

On Friday, 3 September 2021, 80 employees of KLK EMMERICH GmbH ran a full 500 kilometers as part of the Emmerich homerun. The homerun is a charity run organized by a team of four very engaged runners from different companies, one of them is Joerg Bujar, Product Finishing and Logistics Team Lead at KLK EMMERICH GmbH. The collected donations are used for disadvantaged children and teenagers in Emmerich.

“As a large company in our city, we of course want to support them as best as we can”, explained Ralf Ewering, Managing Director, who also took part in the run.

At 4 p.m. the runners gathered at the company’s starting point, the weather conditions were perfect – sunshine and 25 °C. From there, the feet carried their owners across the Rhine promenade into the Rheinpark and from there over a loop back to the starting point on the same path. With great success. All participating employees covered the almost four-kilometer route without any problems, many of them even several times.

Together, the KLK EMMERICH GmbH runners covered a total distance of 500 kilometers. The company thus achieved the first place in the home run ranking of the participating companies. But that was not the only triumph. Ralf Ewering handed over a donation check for 5000 Euros to the organizers of the charity run who were grateful and delighted to receive it. Our contribution to the charity project!

After the run drinks and finger food were served for the runners and the day ended in a pleasant atmosphere.
