Skin Challenges in a Modern World

Generates oxidative stress and inflammation
Accelerates skin ageing
Reduces elasticity
Induces hyperpigmentation
Weakens skin barrier

The skin is particularly prone to the harmful effects of oxidative stress and low-grade chronic inflammation, which leads to the degradation of collagen and elastin. As we grow older, it is normal for our skin to gradually lose its elasticity, as part of the natural ageing process.

Premature skin ageing, however, occurs due to exposure to external aggressors such as UV rays, air pollution, and blue light exposure, which all cause oxidative stress and low-grade chronic inflammation in the skin. Natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory bioactive ingredients such as Tocotrienols can protect skin cells from free radical damage and low-grade chronic inflammation, thereby delaying the signs of premature ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines.

DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols

Effectively suppressed oxidative stress and preserved the mitochondrial membrane potential

Reduced skin cell death by reducing activation of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase molecule and downregulating the expression of cleaved caspase-3

Modulated tyrosinase activity, resulting in reduced melanin production

α-Tocopherol did not protect B16-F1 cells against skin damage and pigmentation caused by blue light exposure

Inhibited PM2.5-induced oxidative stress and was more effective compared to -Tocopherol

Inhibited inflammation caused by PM2.5 exposure, a property not shared by -Tocopherol

Could potentially restore skin barrier function,by increasing protein expression levels of filaggrin, involucrin and TGM-1, following exposure to PM2.5. α-Tocopherol does not share this property

How does DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols Benefits Your Skin

Skin Lightening

Tocotrienols promote skin lightening through two key actions, as they inhibit enzyme tyrosinase production, thereby reducing the amount of melanin produced, while also increasing the breakdown of melanin so that the melanin pigments can be effectively removed.

Antioxidation

Tocotrienols are effective at combating oxidative stress in skin exposed to UV rays. Product formulated with DavosLife E3 reduced free radical production in the skin by 75% after exposure to harmful UVA & UVB rays.

Anti-Inflammation

Tocotrienols are potent anti-inflammatory agents and can attenuate low-grade chronic inflammation caused by external aggressors in the skin. Topical application of 0.7% DavosLife E3 reduced erythema significantly (p<0.05) and was comparable to NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug). In vitro tests on HaCaT cells using 30 μM DavosLife E3 demonstrated reduced production of proinflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 and 8, as well as COX-2 following UV radiation exposure.

Photoprotection

Tocotrienols have been shown to provide photoprotective effects against UV irradiation, and skin reactions such as redness, swelling, and itchiness are significantly reduced. Tocotrienols stimulate blood cell production, protect against radiation-induced cell death, and promote cellular protective mechanisms.

Blue Light Protection

DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols effectively suppress oxidative stress and preserve mitochondrial membrane potential. It reduces skin cell death by lowering activation of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase molecule and downregulating the expression of cleaved caspase-3. DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols also modulate tyrosinase activity, resulting in reduced melanin production. Tocotrienols protect B16-F1 cells against skin damage and pigmentation caused by blue light exposure, while alpha-tocopherol does not.

Tocotrienols could potentially restore skin barrier function by increasing protein expression levels of filaggrin, involucrin, and TGM-1 following exposure to PM2.5. α-tocopherol does not share this property.

Scientific Breakthrough:

DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols Increase Skin’s Resilience to Modern Pollution

DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols are scientifically proven to boost skin’s resilience against modern pollution caused by exposure to blue light and environmental microparticles. Modern pollution induces premature skin ageing by promoting oxidative stress, and also leads to other issues such as hyperpigmentation spots and an impaired skin barrier.

Our recently published studies demonstrated that DavosLife E3 Tocotrienols protect blue-light-exposed skin cells by regulating ROS, mitigating mitochondrial damage, and reducing tyrosinase activity, effectively minimising hyperpigmentation.
