Unique Source, Distinctive Values
Tocopherols and Tocotrienols are found naturally in various grains and seeds such as wheat, rice bran, soybean, palm fruit, grape seed, peanut, walnut and pecan. However, most of these grains and seeds contain only Tocopherols; only a few contain both forms. Tocotrienols are found mainly in palm fruit, wheat, annatto and rice bran in the hard, outer layer beneath the husk.
Palm, rice bran and annatto oils were described as some of the richest sources of Tocotrienols. However, only palm fruit oil contains all four Tocotrienol isomers. The palm fruit is the unique source of complete spectrum of Tocotrienols and α-Tocopherol. Extracts from rice bran oil have a Tocotrienols:Tocopherol ratio of 1:1 and annatto seeds contain predominantly 2 isomers, δ-Tocotrienol and γ-Tocotrienol.
Studies have shown that each Tocotrienol isomer has its own unique health benefits. For example, α-Tocotrienol has been shown to provide good neuroprotection while γ-Tocotrienol is beneficial for cardiovascular health and cellular protection. Therefore, the efficacy of DavosLife E3 could be amplified by the presence of the complete spectrum of Tocotrienols with α-Tocopherol.
