Glycerin is used as excipient in various liquid, semi-solid and solid dosage forms. Due to its excellent water solubility and humectant properties, it helps maintain the integrity and effectiveness of many medicines, ointments and creams. As a sweet-tasting and viscous liquid, Glycerin is often used in cough syrups as a solvent, lubricant and thickening agent, and in lozenges as a lubricant and sweetener.
The product is manufactured by diluting concentrated Glycerin with aqua purificata to meet monograph requirements.
