Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) has broad applications in liquid, semi-solid and solid dosage forms. Typical functions of low molecular weight PEGs include solubility enhancement in syrups, drops, sprays and softgel capsule fillings. They are also frequently used for consistency adjustment in creams and ointments, as well as lubricant and binder for tableting.
Low and high molecular weight PEGs can easily be blended within the same preparation, providing manyfold options to specifically adjust formulation characteristics. Please refer to related articles section below for further available PEG grades.
As certain processes might require elevated temperatures, our PEG articles are optionally also available with a suitable antioxidant to prevent potential degradation.
PEG 400 is additionally tested for microbiological burden including TAMC/TYMC and bacterial endotoxins and has low Dioxane limits to meet requirements of higher risk applications.
